Job summary

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is hiring for a Director, Enterprise Technology & Strategy to provide strategic leadership, governance, and executive oversight of SHRM's technology environment.

You will align technology capabilities with organizational priorities, manage a co-sourced operating model, and partner with executive leadership to modernize infrastructure and strengthen cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years leading enterprise technology strategies.
• Experience with outsourced/managed providers in a co-sourced model.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital workplaces.
• Experience governing portfolios and technology investments.
• Ability to translate complex tech into executive language.
• Budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement experience.
• Change management and stakeholder collaboration across departments.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute SHRM's enterprise technology strategy, roadmap, operating plan, architecture principles, and investment priorities aligned with SHRM’s goals.
• Advise the CFO and executive leadership on technology strategy, cybersecurity risks, and investments.
• Chair the Technology Operating Steering Committee and establish governance processes.
• Develop policies and governance frameworks for security, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for value.
• Provide executive oversight of SHRM's co-sourced technology operating model.
• Govern infrastructure, cloud environments, IAM, collaboration platforms, and core services.
• Oversee modernization, lifecycle planning, asset management, incident governance, and debt reduction.
• Monitor SLA performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead portfolio planning, vendor evaluations, and ROIs.
• Partner with business leaders to identify solutions that improve efficiency and employee experience.
• Ensure successful implementation, integration, adoption, and optimization of solutions.
• Establish dashboards, KPIs, and reporting to measure performance.
