Job summary

Western Union is seeking an experienced Director/Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk Management to build and lead a company-wide risk program in a regulated financial services environment. Qualifications

• Bachelors in risk management, finance, or related field required.
• Masters/MBA preferred for leadership roles.
• Track record in enterprise risk management and compliance disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the ERM framework and risk appetite statement.
• Design and manage the Enterprise Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program.
• Develop executive-level risk reporting, dashboards, KRIs, and risk registers.
• Drive implementation of Integrated Risk Management tools and reporting capabilities.
• Partner with business leaders to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks.
• Lead risk training programs, workshops, and Risk Champion initiatives.
• Present risk insights to executive committees and senior leadership.
• Oversee governance documentation, policies, frameworks, and procedures.
• Support regulatory reporting and risk management submissions.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing risk team and drive accountability.

Now Hiring: Director / Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management

We're seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) leader to play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and enhancing a company-wide risk management program within a highly regulated financial services environment.

In this role, you will partner closely with executive leadership to identify, assess, monitor, and report key enterprise risks while helping shape a strong risk culture across the organization. This position has significant visibility with senior management, executive committees, and Board of Directors.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and evolution of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement
• Design and manage the Enterprise Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program
• Develop executive-level risk reporting, dashboards, KRIs, and risk registers
• Drive implementation of Integrated Risk Management tools and reporting capabilities
• Partner with business leaders to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor enterprise-wide risks
• Lead enterprise risk training programs, workshops, and Risk Champion initiatives
• Present risk insights, emerging risks, and recommendations to Executive Risk Committees and senior leadership
• Oversee risk governance documentation, policies, frameworks, and procedures
• Support regulatory reporting and risk management submissions
• Mentor and develop a high-performing risk team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA, Master's, or equivalent) preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, compliance, audit, financial services, or related risk disciplines, with significant leadership responsibility.
• 5+ years of experience leading enterprise-wide risk management programs within a complex, highly regulated organization.
• Proven track record partnering with executive leadership teams and presenting risk matters to senior management, executive committees, and Boards of Directors.
• Proven ability to influence and build consensus across business lines, corporate functions, and the three lines of defense.
• Demonstrated success leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams and fostering a strong risk culture.

Preferred Certifications

• Preferred Certifications Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) (CPA), (CIA), (FRM) or
• Other relevant risk, governance, compliance, or audit certifications

Work Shift
