Job summary

Western Union seeks a Senior Privacy Analyst to support the Global Privacy Program across Legal, Compliance, Security, Technology, Product, and AI Governance. You will conduct privacy risk assessments, handle individual rights requests, investigate incidents, and support regulatory inquiries in a fast-paced global setting.

Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of privacy laws, excellent drafting and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex matters across time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in privacy related field; privacy certs like CIPP/CIPM/CIPT favored.
• 3+ years in privacy, data protection, legal operations, risk management, or related areas.
• Strong understanding of privacy principles and GDPR/CCPA/CPRA and state privacy laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong legal and policy drafting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage Individual Rights Requests (access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, objection) with privacy tools and case tracking.
• Investigate privacy incidents and data protection matters; document findings and coordinate follow-up.
• Conduct Privacy Risk Assessments (PRAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
• Support regulatory inquiries, audits, examinations, and privacy compliance activities.
• Maintain privacy documentation: records of processing activities, data inventories, maps, retention records.
• Draft, review, and maintain governance documentation.
• Research emerging privacy, AI governance, and regulatory developments for program enhancements.
• Assist with privacy awareness initiatives and employee education.

Senior Privacy Analyst

The Senior Privacy Analyst will support Western Union's Global Privacy Program and work closely with Legal, Compliance, Security, Technology, Product, AI Governance, and business stakeholders across multiple regions. This role is responsible for conducting privacy risk assessments, processing individual rights requests, investigating privacy incidents and data protection matters, supporting regulatory inquiries and compliance activities, maintaining privacy documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to promote adherence to global privacy and data protection requirements.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of privacy laws and privacy-by-design principles, excellent communication and legal drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple complexes matters simultaneously in a fast‑paced global environment. This position requires collaboration across diverse time zones and engagement with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage Individual Rights Requests, including access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, and objection requests, while maintaining associated privacy management tools and case tracking systems.
• Investigate privacy incidents and data protection matters documenting findings and coordinating required follow-up activities.
• Conduct Privacy Risk Assessments (PRAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and other privacy risk evaluations.
• Support regulatory inquiries, audits, examinations, complaints, and other privacy compliance activities.
• Maintain privacy documentation, including records of processing activities, data inventories, data maps, retention records, and assessment repositories.
• Draft, review, and maintain governance documentation.
• Research emerging privacy, AI, data governance, and regulatory developments to support program enhancements.
• Assist with privacy awareness initiatives, training programs, and employee education activities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business, Compliance, Information Management, Information Security, Public Policy, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) and paralegal qualifications will be considered favorably.
• 3+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, legal operations, risk management, or related disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of privacy principles and data protection frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, other emerging U.S. state privacy laws)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong legal and policy drafting skills.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and urgent matters simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a global environment spanning multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

• Paralegal Certification, or equivalent legal background.
• Familiarity with:
  • EU AI Act
  • NIST AI Risk Management Framework
  • AI governance and Responsible AI principles
• Experience within financial services, payments, fintech, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience working with regulators, supervisory authorities, auditors, and external counsel.
• Experience supporting enterprise privacy awareness and training programs.

Salary

The base salary range is $89,000.00 - $119,000.00 per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus annual incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
