Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking an Enterprise Systems Integration & Development Director to lead the university’s enterprise data ecosystem, data engineering, and systems integration, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer/Deputy CIO.

This role will shape strategies to ensure data is secure, accessible, integrated, and effectively leveraged to support teaching, learning, research, administration, and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience managing complex IT or information systems projects.
• Eight or more years of experience leading, supervising, and developing professional staff.
• Experience directing enterprise applications and integration solutions.
• Experience partnering with diverse stakeholders to deliver enterprise technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee enterprise data management, data engineering, systems integration, and enterprise application development services.
• Lead planning, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, reporting environments, and analytical systems.
• Manage enterprise application integration services, data exchanges, and interoperability among institutional systems.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to identify requirements, prioritize initiatives, resolve service issues, and deliver technology solutions that support university operations and decision-making.
• Establish operational priorities, service delivery standards, project roadmaps, and resource allocation plans for data and systems integration functions.
• Serve as the primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders, foster collaboration, and represent departmental priorities.
• Ensure compliance with university, UW System, State of Wisconsin, regulatory, security, privacy, audit, and business continuity requirements related to enterprise data and information systems.
• Administer vendor relationships, software licensing, contracts, and technology investments while ensuring effective stewardship of financial and technology resources.
• Ensure fiscal stewardship and effective resource allocation.
• Exercise full supervisory authority for professional staff and managers, including hiring, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Lead and develop teams through subordinate managers, promoting accountability, operational effectiveness, and a culture of service excellence, while building organizational capability through coaching, training, and professional development.
