Job summary

Universities of Wisconsin is seeking an Enterprise Systems Integration and Development Director to provide strategic leadership for the university’s data ecosystem, data integration, and application data services. Reporting to the COO/Deputy CIO, this role develops strategies to ensure institutional data is secure, accessible, and effectively leveraged to support teaching, research, and administration.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience managing complex IT or information systems projects.
• Eight or more years of experience leading, supervising, and developing professional staff.
• Experience directing the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications and integration solutions.
• Experience partnering with diverse stakeholders to deliver enterprise-level technology solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee enterprise data management, data engineering, systems integration, and enterprise application development services to ensure reliable and effective technology operations.
• Lead the planning, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, reporting environments, and analytical systems.
• Manage enterprise application integration services, data exchanges, and interoperability among institutional systems.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to identify requirements, prioritize initiatives, resolve service issues, and deliver technology solutions that support university operations and decision-making.
• Establish operational priorities, service delivery standards, project roadmaps, and resource allocation plans for data and systems integration functions.
• Serve as the primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders, foster collaboration, and represent departmental priorities.
• Ensure compliance with university, UW System, State of Wisconsin, regulatory, security, privacy, audit, and business continuity requirements related to enterprise data and information systems.
• Administer vendor relationships, software licensing, contracts, and technology investments while ensuring effective stewardship of financial and technology resources.
• Ensure fiscal stewardship and effective resource allocation.
• Exercise full supervisory authority for professional staff and managers, including hiring, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Lead and develop teams through subordinate managers, promoting accountability, operational effectiveness, and a culture of service excellence, while building organizational capability through coaching, training, and professional development.
