Job summary

Spherion is seeking a Director of Engineering, Product Development and Quality Control to lead the Engineering, Product Development and QC teams in Ebensburg, PA. This is a full-time, direct-hire role reporting to senior leadership.

You will develop strategic plans, drive product innovations, ensure quality standards, manage budgets, and collaborate with sales and marketing to present products to customers. A PE certification is required and ISO initiatives are planned.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering with at least 2 years of product R&D and 2+ years of supervision.
• Professional communication skills.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional Engineer certification required; ISO certification initiation within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Meet with COO/President regularly to discuss objectives for engineering, product development and quality control.
• Develop and implement strategic plan for product development, engineering initiatives and quality control with related departments.
• Provide leadership to staff in engineering, R&D, QA, testing and production of new/existing product lines.
• Manage budgets for engineering, product development and quality control and related projects.
• Coordinate with the Quality Control Manager to meet standards and procedures.
• Stay current with trends and technologies to continuously improve product lines.
• Collaborate with leadership to set priorities according to business objectives.
• Supervise creation/review of engineering and quality policies for continuous improvement.
• Analyze data/reports to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support sales/marketing with product presentations and customer support.
• Utilize engineering/design software and equipment for tasks.
• Attend trade shows and training conferences as required.
• Attend social recreation events to supervise and assist handicapped individuals as required.
