ChemDAQ, Inc. seeks an experienced Director of Engineering and Quality to lead a growing engineering team and drive key product development initiatives while overseeing the Quality Department. This hands-on leadership role combines technical depth with people leadership in a high-growth environment.

The position is full-time in the office in Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background across electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, or database domains, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, electrical or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in a high-growth technology company or similar industry (instrumentation, sensors, chemical detection, or industrial safety).
• At least 5 years of engineering leadership/management experience.
• Experience with regulated quality systems (ISO 9000 or equivalent); implementing or developing new quality standards is a plus.
• Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team with technical guidance and clear growth paths.
• Oversee quality and compliance, partnering with Quality Manager to pursue ISO 9001 readiness.
• Drive new product development from concept through launch in a stage-gate process.
• Improve the NPD process to deliver new products on time and manufacturable.
• Sustaining engineering to update existing product lines and meet customer expectations.
• Advance engineering practices through tooling, processes, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Operations to address customer and business needs.
• Be a key member of the management team guiding the company’s engineering direction.
