Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director of Engineering for a patient-facing care domain in healthcare. This remote role shapes the engineering direction from intake to pharmacy handoff, balancing product innovation with reliability and regulatory rigor.

You will partner with product, clinical, operations, and executives to define architecture, drive roadmaps, and lead a growing team of managers in a fast-moving environment. Remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years managing managers or multiple teams in high-growth environments.
• Experience with clinical or regulated health data systems, including knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
• Proven track record in owning end-to-end user experiences with cross-functional teams.
• Strong grounding in modern service architectures like Spring Boot and Kotlin.
• Experience integrating third-party health and pharmacy systems.
• Ability to define and execute technical roadmaps aligned with product vision.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Engineering - Care to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This leader will own the engineering direction for a patient-facing care domain that spans intake through pharmacy handoff. The role is responsible for balancing product innovation, operational reliability, and regulatory rigor while guiding technical decisions that directly impact patient-critical workflows. You will partner closely with product, clinical, operations, and executive stakeholders to shape architecture, delivery, and organizational strategy in a fast-moving environment.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $166,000 – $200,000 annually
