Remote (US) | Full-Time / Direct Hire | $175,000–$220,000 base + annual bonus
Our client, a large, mission-driven company undergoing a major AI transformation, is hiring a Director of AI Enablement to build and lead the team that will make the organization AI-native.
This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of AI enablement across the company. It spans three pillars: business workflow enablement, data enablement, and developer enablement. You’ll report to the VP of Applied AI Engineering and be accountable for adoption, best practices, governance, cost, and ROI across every AI initiative the business takes on.
This isn’t about running a single project. You’ll build the function, the team, and the operating model that turn AI from a set of scattered tools into a core capability the whole company relies on. We’re looking for a hands‑on practitioner who is fluent in enterprise GenAI tools like M365 Copilot, Claude, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Code, and who is just as comfortable in front of executives as in the technology.
What You’ll Do
- Build, lead, and grow the AI Enablement team across business, data, and developer enablement
- Set the strategy, priorities, and operating model for how the company adopts and scales AI
- Partner with the team’s Solution Architect to turn strategy into execution
- Hire, coach, and develop a fast-moving, hands‑on team
- Represent AI enablement to executive leadership and translate technical progress into business impact
Adoption, Governance & Best Practices
- Own the company-wide approach to AI adoption, including playbooks, standards, and training
- Establish governance for evaluating, approving, and using AI tools, balancing speed with security, compliance, and risk
- Drive best practices for cost‑conscious use of enterprise AI tools, including coding assistants and token optimization
- Build training programs, communities of practice, and enablement resources that keep AI fluency growing
Cost, ROI & Business Impact
- Own the cost model and help set the budget for AI tools and enablement programs
- Define how AI ROI is measured and build reporting that shows leadership what’s working
- Prioritize the enablement portfolio by business impact, and adjust quickly as tools and needs evolve
What You Bring
- A software engineering background and senior leadership experience, with credibility among both engineers and executives
- Expert‑level, hands‑on use of AI tools. You’re the person others ask how to get the most out of them.
- Experience leading a team focused on technology adoption, enablement, platform strategy, or similar cross‑functional work
- A track record of driving org‑wide change and getting large groups to adopt new tools or ways of working
- Comfort owning governance, cost, and ROI conversations, and the ability to speak fluently about risk and business value
- Strong executive presence and communication skills
- Experience participating in or leading an AI transformation initiative is highly preferred
What Success Looks Like
- AI fluency and adoption are embedded across business, data, and developer teams
- The AI Enablement team is high‑performing and seen as a trusted partner, not a gatekeeper
- Leadership has clear visibility into the governance, cost, and ROI of AI investments
- AI enablement is recognized as a durable, strategic function
- $175,000–$220,000 base salary, depending on experience, skills, and location
- Annual bonus eligibility plus a full benefits package
- 100% remote within the United States
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US for any employer; sponsorship is not available
