Job summary

West Monroe is seeking a Director to lead the Energy & Utilities practice, guiding technology modernization for investor-owned utilities and delivering measurable business outcomes. You will influence executives, oversee complex engagements, and drive growth across a portfolio of utility clients.

You will shape strategy, enterprise architecture, cloud modernization, AI transformation, cybersecurity, and IT/OT alignment while developing talent and expanding West Monroe’s market presence.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience serving the utility industry and investor-owned utilities.
• 8+ years of consulting experience leading business and technology transformation initiatives.
• Proven ability to build executive relationships and grow consulting revenue.
• Deep understanding of utility operating models, regulation, and modernization priorities.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% annually.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to utility executives and technology leaders on strategy and modernization.
• Lead engagements across technology strategy, cloud transformation, data and AI, cybersecurity, and IT/OT alignment.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI to improve operations and outcomes.
• Guide clients on governance, roadmaps, and large-scale program execution.
• Lead teams and mentor future consulting leaders.
• Develop and expand executive relationships and pursue new opportunities.
• Define market positioning and grow West Monroe’s Utilities practice.
