Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA, headquartered in Houston, seeks a Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the electrical strategy for utility-scale gas-fired power plants serving demanding data-center loads.

The role owns electrical architecture, grid interconnection, and high-availability power delivery, coordinating with EPCs, OEMs, and utilities to deliver reliable, compliant projects from development through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in power plant electrical engineering, EPC, owner’s engineering, or project development.
• Proven experience acting as a technical authority or discipline lead.
• Deep expertise in power plant electrical systems, HV/MV equipment, protection and grounding.
• Strong understanding of data center power requirements and high-availability design.
• Excellent leadership and ability to communicate with EPCs, OEMs, utilities, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead owner-side electrical strategy, system architecture, and governance for gas-fired plants with data-center loads.
• Coordinate grid interconnection studies and utility coordination (ERCOT, Oncor).
• Drive FAT/SAT planning, execution, and post-test documentation with customers.
• Mentor engineers and ensure adherence to standards across multiple projects.
• Translate customer requirements into executable electrical designs and align internal teams and contractors.
