Job summary

University at Albany, SUNY in Albany, NY is seeking a Director for the Pathways Into Education Center (PIE) within the School of Education. The Director will lead student engagement, develop recruitment, retention, and completion strategies, and provide non-degree academic advising for undergraduate and graduate programs.

The role includes certification oversight, assessment activities, and outreach to K-12 and alumni, with supervision of PIE staff and collaboration with the Dean's Office.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in advanced graduate program from a college or university accredited by US DoE or international accrediting organization.
• Three (3) years of professional experience working at a college or university.
• Two (2) years of professional experience in college-level academic advising or student success activities.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment: develop and manage short- and long-term recruitment/retention plans for graduate and undergraduate students.
• Retention: assist academic departments with yield efforts and information sessions.
• Academic Advising: collaborate with department advisors to assist non-degree students and School of Education minors.
• Certification: serve as certification specialist, providing advisement and submitting recommendations; assist with Title II reporting.
• Student Success and Engagement: organize activities and workshops on career readiness, wellbeing, and academic success.
• Assessment/Accreditation: aid self-study and site visit processes and related activities.
• Outreach: engage with schools and entities for recruitment and community engagement.
• Leadership: supervise PIE staff, provide guidance and performance feedback.
