Job summary

Maryland State Department of Education seeks the Director of School Innovations to lead and oversee innovative educational initiatives within Maryland Public Schools, including charter school programs and the SEED School of Maryland. Qualifications

• Master’s degree or 36 credit hours post-baccalaureate required.
• Five years coordinating or administering programs related to student support in K-12; at least two years at LEA central office or state agency level.
• Experience with Charter Schools and Federal/State grant programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Maryland Public Charter School Program and the SEED School of Maryland.
• Design, develop, implement and evaluate programs for student support across Maryland Public Schools.
• Oversee legislation, fiscal notes (45-50 in a session) and legislative reports during each legislative session.
