Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) seeks a Director of School Innovations to lead innovative educational initiatives across Maryland Public Schools, including the Maryland Public Charter School Program and the SEED School of Maryland.

The role oversees legislation, fiscal notes, and legislative reports during each session, leads weekly meetings, and tracks COMAR reports for completion by the Division of Student Support and Federal Programs.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate coursework from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of experience coordinating or administering programs or services related to student support in a K-12 setting.
• At least two years of experience at LEA central office or State Agency level.

Aufgaben

• Provide leadership, support, and accountability for Maryland Public Schools’ educational initiatives, including the Maryland Public Charter School Program and the SEED School of Maryland.
• Serve as the Division's lead in overseeing legislation, fiscal notes (45–50 per session), and legislative reports assigned to the Division of Student Support and Federal Programs.
• Lead weekly meetings, track legislation and COMAR reports, and ensure timely completion during each legislative session.
