Job summary

Early-Stage Defense Tech Software in Washington, DC / Northern Virginia is seeking a hands-on leader to turn early wins into durable programs. You will own transitions from pilots to programs, coordinate with program offices, and drive budgeted, recurring lines through the DoD lifecycle.

This on-site role requires building enduring relationships with PEOs and customers, navigating PPBE processes, and turning opportunities into funded programs while maintaining a clear path to permanent presence

Qualifications

• Experience moving prototype/SBIR tech into a funded program of record.
• Knowledge of PPBE, POM cycle, and money flow in DoD.
• Relationships with program offices or acquisition leadership.
• Defense tech background with multi-service exposure preferred.
• Patience with long cycles and measurable quarterly progress.
• Strong writing for white papers and transition plans.
• Based in DC/NOVA, in-person, travel up to 25%.
• Must be eligible for U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Transition ownership: move Phase II to Phase III transitions and convert pilots to funded vehicles.
• Program insertion: map capability to programs of record and build relationships with PEOs and requirements owners.
• Funding strategy: navigate budget cycle, track inputs, unfunded requirements, and reprogramming actions.
• Account expansion: keep customers on contract, expand scope and option years, grow footprint.
• Teaming and partnerships: build relationships with primes, integrators, FFRDCs, and UARCs.
