Job summary

Formation Bio is seeking an experienced Director of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to lead scientific and strategic DMPK efforts across multiple development programs. The role spans due diligence for in‑licensing and portfolio leadership for preclinical and clinical programs, with a focus on translating complex data into actionable development decisions.

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmaceutical sciences and typically 8+ years in biotech/pharma.
• Deep expertise in DMPK with small‑molecule development experience.
• Strong ability to integrate nonclinical and clinical PK data to guide decisions.
• Experience with regulatory expectations for DMPK during drug development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as DMPK expert for diligence of in‑licensing, acquisitions, and partnerships.
• Evaluate PK/ADME/BDI data to assess asset strengths and risks.
• Assess data quality, identify gaps, and flag development risks.
• Translate DMPK findings into development strategy and dose guidance.
• Lead cross‑functional DMPK programs from late preclinical to IND/CTA.
• Define experiments and data needs to resolve key questions.
• Provide regulatory‑focused oversight for metabolism and DDI assessments.
• Support development plans with CROs and external partners.
• Communicate complex findings to diverse, senior audiences.
