Job summary

The University of Rochester is seeking a Director of Digital Access and Capacity to lead enterprise digital access platforms, including Epic Cadence scheduling, and to optimize patient access across ambulatory and procedural settings.

You will oversee the implementation, governance, and operational management of scheduling solutions, drive capacity alignment, and standardize workflows. Strong leadership and Epic Cadence experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, informatics, data analytics, or related field is required.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience leading or managing teams or projects is required.
• Experience with Epic Cadence, MyChart, or equivalent scheduling and digital access platforms is preferred.
• Experience with digital front door capabilities (online scheduling, patient portals, eCheck-in) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation and continuous optimization of digital access initiatives including system-guided scheduling, eCheck-in, and referral management.
• Leads enterprise-wide Demand-to-Capacity Alignment and design of provider templates, scheduling logic, and block utilization.
• Oversees the enterprise-wide scheduling workflows within Epic and other digital platforms, ensuring robust, standardized processes.
• Establishes performance expectations, monitors metrics, and drives corrective actions for patient access performance.
• Drives adoption and optimization of digital access tools and standardized workflows through cross-functional leadership.
• Directly supervises staff, oversees hiring, training, and performance reviews, and supports career development.
• Fosters partnerships across clinical, operational, digital, IT, and informatics to align access and capacity strategies.
