Job description

YISE Beauty was founded by Molly Sims on a simple belief: great skin is the best accessory. The brand—pronounced “wise”—stands for intelligent skincare that performs without pretense. We make science-backed formulas for real people with real lives, and we talk to our community the way Molly would: directly, warmly, and with a little wit. We’re a small, fast-moving team that cares deeply about what we make and how we show up. If you want to build something meaningful inside a brand with a genuine point of view, this is the seat.

The Opportunity

YISE Beauty is bringing demand planning in-house after relying on an outsourced partner. This newly created role will own the demand plan end to end and establish it as the company’s single source of truth—the trusted view that connects what we expect to sell with what we buy, invest, and communicate to the business.

This is a high-visibility seat at the center of Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations. The Demand Planning Director will build the planning capability and analytical foundation YISE needs as it scales across DTC and retail, helping leadership make confident decisions on inventory, purchasing, cash flow, launches, and channel allocation.

The role is the analytical engine of the monthly S&OP process and will prepare the demand models, scenarios, insights, and meeting materials; the S&OP process owner will own the cadence and facilitate the review. The right candidate combines rigorous forecasting with commercial judgment and knows how to turn imperfect inputs into a clear, defensible plan.

Responsibilities
Demand Plan Ownership
  • Own and maintain the bottoms-up unit demand plan across all channels, including DTC (Shopify), wholesale (Sephora US/Canada), marketplaces, and future retail partners.
  • Build and continuously improve the forecasting model using sell-through actuals, promotional lifts, new-launch sizing, seasonal patterns, channel trends, out-of-stocks, and other demand signals.
  • Maintain a rolling 12-month-plus demand horizon with the weekly and monthly granularity needed to support long-lead-time SKUs, purchase-order timing, and cash planning.
  • Run a formal monthly actual-versus-forecast review; report forecast accuracy and bias by franchise, channel, and SKU; identify root causes; and translate learnings into model and process improvements.
  • Maintain a clearly documented, assumption-based demand plan that distinguishes unconstrained demand from supply or inventory constraints.
  • Keep the demand plan aligned with commercial plans and reconcile it to the financial outlook so Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance are working from one coherent view.
  • Incorporate complex retail and market inputs, including retailer forecasts, social and influencer campaigns, promotions, seasonality, currency effects, and channel-specific lead times.
S&OP Analytics and Decision Support
  • Prepare the analytical inputs, models, scenarios, and materials for the monthly S&OP process; provide the facts and recommendations needed for cross-functional and executive decisions.
  • Coordinate demand inputs from Sales and Marketing—including sell-out forecasts, launch sizing, promotional calendars, sampling, animations, and channel commitments—and integrate approved assumptions on time.
  • Build the monthly S&OP demand pack, including prior-period actuals, forecast changes, key assumptions, risks and opportunities, launch and promotion views, forecast accuracy, and decision requests.
  • Maintain weekly demand and exception reporting between monthly S&OP cycles, highlighting material changes, out-of-stocks, retailer signals, and emerging risks.
  • Partner with supply planning to translate demand into stock-equation scenarios, buy-plan implications, safety-stock recommendations, and inventory risk views.
  • Partner with Finance to quantify revenue, margin, working-capital, and cash implications and to reconcile the demand plan with the financial outlook.
  • Track S&OP decisions that affect the demand plan and promptly reflect approved assumptions in the published forecast.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to align demand assumptions with promotional calendars, launches, influencer activations, retail events, and channel-specific commitments.
  • Serve as the demand planning counterpart to retail customer planners, including Sephora US/Canada, strengthening the forecast relationship and improving sell-through and replenishment accuracy.
  • Work closely with supply planning on inventory-health metrics such as weeks of supply, weeks on hand, service risk, excess and obsolete exposure, and channel allocation.
  • Partner with Product Development and Product Marketing on new-launch sizing and the transition from initial sell-in assumptions to ongoing post-launch forecasting.
  • Influence cross-functional partners through clear facts, constructive challenge, and well-framed trade-offs—even when inputs are incomplete or priorities conflict.
  • Support Finance and leadership with mid- and long-range business planning.
  • Maintain the demand planning model and published forecast as the single source of truth, with clear version control, assumptions, ownership, and access.
  • Build and publish a concise demand dashboard covering forecast accuracy and bias, sell-in and sell-through trends, inventory health, and material risks and opportunities.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of ERP and demand-planning technology as the business scales, ensuring data, definitions, and processes are migration-ready.
  • Create and maintain practical SOPs for demand planning and its inputs to S&OP, protecting continuity and institutional knowledge.
  • Identify process and data gaps, prioritize improvements, and establish a roadmap that balances immediate business needs with scalable capability building.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply chain, or inventory planning within beauty, CPG, or omnichannel retail; experience building or materially upgrading a planning capability is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an end-to-end demand plan and experience supporting S&OP or IBP with rigorous analytics, scenarios, cross-functional inputs, and executive-ready materials.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills for demand, financial, and supply-chain modeling; experience with demand-planning platforms such as Anaplan, Netstock, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel forecasting across DTC, marketplaces (such as Amazon and TikTok Shop), and retail replenishment, including EDI, sell-through, customer-planner relationships, and preferably Sephora.
  • Strong command of forecast-accuracy methods and metrics, including bias and weighted error measures, with sound judgment about data quality, outliers, and intermittent demand.
  • Commercially minded and able to connect demand assumptions to revenue, margin, inventory, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Clear, concise communicator who can explain complex analysis, challenge assumptions constructively, and earn trust across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial growth environment—able to build structure from scratch, make progress with imperfect data, and iterate quickly.
  • Naturally curious and improvement-oriented, with a habit of asking why the plan changed, why it missed, and what the team should do differently.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • A small team where your work is seen and your ideas are heard

*If remote, one week per month onsite in LA is expected
