Job summary

DEPT® is seeking a Director, Data Technology to lead the data and measurement ecosystem behind client work. You will be the anchor for data platforms, governance, and scalable architecture, blending data engineering with marketing technology expertise.

You will own the signal-to-insight lifecycle from data capture to reporting, partnering with stakeholders to drive decisions, activation, and business intelligence at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, analytics, or marketing tech with leadership experience.
• Proven track record delivering data platforms and measurement frameworks.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience with Looker/LookML as semantic layer and visualization surface.
• Hands-on experience in Snowflake and BigQuery architectures, governance, and cost control.
• Familiarity with consent/privacy frameworks (CCPA/GDPR).
• Experience with server-side tagging, identity, and privacy-first measurement.
• Excellent communication with executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-quarter data technology roadmap for BI and MarTech.
• Lead architecture decisions and data quality governance across practice.
• Manage end-to-end BI stack: ingestion, modeling, activation, analytics surface.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
