Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel – Data Privacy to lead the company’s privacy program and provide strategic legal guidance across technology and commercial contracting. This senior role requires balancing risk with business growth and partnering with executives to embed privacy into strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of legal experience with data privacy and complex commercial/tech transactions.
• Deep knowledge of US federal/state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA) and familiarity with GDPR.
• Experience building or scaling a data privacy program.
• Privacy certification (CIPP/US, CIPM) preferred.
• Experience advising executive leadership on regulatory and risk matters.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and outside counsel management skills.
• Experience negotiating vendor, SaaS, and data processing agreements at volume.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lennar's data privacy function, managing the privacy program and legal services delivery.
• Provide practical privacy and commercial legal advice on data collection, use, sharing, retention, and cross-border transfers.
• Negotiate data processing, vendor, technology, and data-sharing agreements; manage risk and regulatory obligations.
• Contribute to AI governance and privacy/regulatory initiatives with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Manage matter-level budgets and outside counsel spend within approved frameworks.
