Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel – Data Privacy to lead the privacy program, counsel on complex data processing and technology agreements, and support AI governance. The role partners with senior leadership to balance legal risk with business growth within a fast-paced organization.

The ideal candidate will bring JD, 8–12 years of privacy experience, and strong leadership abilities to build and mentor a high-impact team in a Fortune 500‑class homebuilder environment.

Qualifications

• JD licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• 8-12 years of legal experience with data privacy.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. federal/state privacy laws incl. CCPA/CPRA.
• Familiarity with GDPR and international frameworks.
• Experience building or scaling a data privacy program.
• Privacy certification (CIPP/US, CIPM) preferred.
• Experience advising executive leadership on complex issues.
• Strong negotiation and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lennar's data privacy function and privacy program.
• Provide practical privacy and commercial legal guidance.
• Negotiate data processing, vendor, and technology agreements.
• Contribute to AI governance and regulatory initiatives.
• Manage matter-level budgets and outside counsel spend.
• Develop foundational privacy standards and playbooks.
• Mentor attorneys and support scale of the team.
• Partner with business leaders to align legal with business goals.
