Job summary

Polymarket is hiring a Director of Data Platform to build and scale a foundation powering decisions across the company. You will lead data engineering, analytics engineering, and data science teams, owning data ingestion, transformations, and trusted data models for reporting and analysis.

You'll define the architecture, roadmap, and operating model to scale with on-chain and off-chain products. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes technical design, data modeling, and platform strategy while

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science, including 4+ years managing
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary data team with engineers and scientists
• Strong technical foundation to review data models, architectures, or query plans
• Production experience across modern data stack: orchestration/transformations, cloud warehouse, cloud platform
• Proven track record of improving data quality and trust
• Ability to prioritize across stakeholders and say no with justification
• Experience building and leading a team, not inheriting one
• Comfort in fast-moving environments with evolving business rules
• Familiarity with on-chain data ingestion or blockchain infrastructure (plus)
• Experience in fintech, crypto, or data-intensive financial products (plus)

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop data engineers, analytics engineers, and data scientists
• Own the architecture and roadmap for the data platform from ingestion to modeled layer
• Set data trust standards including modeling conventions, testing, freshness SLAs, incident response
• Partner with engineering on instrumentation and on-chain data ingestion
• Prioritize platform work with analytics leadership and business stakeholders
• Decide on build-versus-buy and tooling across orchestration, transformation, warehouse, and BI
• Maintain scalability as volume grows and new products launch
• Build operating rhythm including planning, on-call, reviews, and documentation
