Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced data/AI leader to build and operate shared, scalable data and AI capabilities. You will consolidate Azure, AWS, GCP, Palantir, and Databricks into a single delivery system, drive standards, and own the engineering playbook and AI governance across the enterprise.

You will lead talent development, partner with IT for enterprise platforms, and ensure production-grade delivery aligned to business priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and 15+ years of hands-on data/AI leadership experience.
Experience leading enterprise-scale data engineering teams and multiple delivery streams.
Deep knowledge of modern cloud data architectures and CI/CD practices.
Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, Palantir Foundry/AIP, and Databricks in enterprise settings.
Strong stakeholder leadership and ability to deliver measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

Lead the Data & AI organization, oversee data engineering, analytics engineering, AI/ML, and platform support.
Attract, hire, and retain top data/AI talent; build career paths and mentorship.
Unify geographically distributed teams around common standards and governance.
Own the delivery roadmap, consolidate platforms, and ensure funded run models for all products.
Define engineering playbooks, training, and enterprise ontology for AI governance.
