Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director of Data Semantic Governance to shape how business data is governed and leveraged across the enterprise. You will bridge business stakeholders, data ops, data strategy, analytics, and IT to ensure a trusted, scalable, and AI-ready data foundation.

You will define governance standards, master data management, metadata, and semantic layer design, driving alignment with commercial strategy and privacy requirements while influencing senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive data governance or data management experience.
• Experience bridging business strategy and IT execution.
• Expertise with data governance, cataloging platforms, and MDM.
• Knowledge of data modeling, glossary, lineage, and semantic layer design.
• Experience with pharma or life sciences is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern semantic models, glossaries, and canonical data definitions.
• Partner with data strategy and IT to implement governance templates and interfaces.
• Lead data quality rules, lineage, and health monitoring across assets.
• Influence senior stakeholders in executive forums and governance councils.
• Ensure compliance-by-design and support AI enablement initiatives.
