Job summary

Cowbell is seeking a Director, Claims in the United States to lead a team of cyber claims professionals, set department goals, and drive timely adjudication of claims. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service.

You will also develop strategies to improve processes, implement KPIs, and maintain regulatory compliance while delivering exceptional customer experience across clients, brokers, and insureds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of cyber claims handling experience.
• 2 years of people leadership experience.
• Strong skills in coverage, claim evaluation and negotiation.
• Exceptional organizational and presentation skills.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment and cross-functional teams.
• JD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform claims handling and management tasks, including coverage investigations and letters.
• Manage external incident response teams and evaluate coverage issues.
• Assess claims reserves and maintain claims files.
• Oversee defense and coverage counsel and reinsurance reporting.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and proactive communications with clients.
• Lead claims presentations, written and oral, with action plans for complex claims.
• Support marketing of claim services and conduct presentations to policyholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital transformation.
• Develop KPIs and monitor claims department performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on insurance regulations and industry best practices.
• Foster positive team culture and professional development.
