University of Central Florida invites applications for a 12-month, tenured professor to serve as Director of the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the Orlando main campus. The role includes academic and administrative leadership, management of human resources, a new budget model, and strong emphasis on research, teaching, and service.

The selected candidate will foster collaborations across the College of Health Professions and Sciences, mentor faculty, support external funding

Qualifications

• A research doctoral degree in communication sciences and disorders or related discipline.
• Administrative leadership and mentoring in a university setting.
• Experience with program accreditation.
• Experience with student recruitment for undergraduate and graduate programs.
• A record of federally funded research & mentoring faculty in securing external funding.
• Experience with interprofessional education.
• A record of facilitating successful collaborations within and outside the university setting.
• A record of alumni engagement and curriculum revisions/new programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and administrative leadership for the School of CSD.
• Manage human resources and implement a new budget model.
• Foster intra- and inter-school collaborations to enhance scholarship, teaching and service.
• Support and mentor faculty to secure external funding.
• Advance programming to fulfill community healthcare needs.
