Position Overview

The Director of Corporate Development will leverage strategic reasoning, analytical skills, and stakeholder management to drive growth and differentiation initiatives. The role involves identifying opportunities for investments, partnerships, and mergers/acquisitions that align with SCAN's mission. The director will also support portfolio companies' leadership to enhance quality and performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Perform financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
  2. Lead cross-functional projects related to growth strategies.
  3. Analyze industry trends to inform partnership, investment, and creation opportunities.
  4. Lead due diligence on new opportunities sourced internally or externally.
  5. Manage relationships with potential partners, vendors, and investment targets.
  6. Support negotiations and approval processes with stakeholders.
  7. Coordinate with departments to align development activities with company goals.
  8. Report on portfolio performance and activities to boards.
  9. Provide interim leadership to portfolio companies as needed.
  10. Manage select companies within SCAN's venture portfolio and support M&A integration.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years in investment banking, strategy/financial consulting, or corporate development.
  • Experience managing professional teams.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and communicate effectively.
