Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal’s Consumer & Retail Group in Boston seeks a Director to lead complex transformation engagements, drive EBITDA expansion, and deliver tangible value for clients from start to finish. You will own engagements, shape strategy, and build high‑performing teams across multiple workstreams.

The role requires deep consumer/retail consulting experience, strong leadership, proven client management at C‑level, and the ability to structure problems and deliver results under pressure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience in consumer/retail or consulting at a professional services firm
• Demonstrated success leading and managing complex work streams and projects
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
• Strong written communication skills and ability to develop client-ready documents independently
• Open to domestic travel up to 70% M-F

Responsibilities

• Lead complex client engagements across transformation, performance improvement, and M&A.
• Own value creation and client impact from start to finish.
• Help build and lead high-performing teams on engagements, managing scope and timeline.
• Own C-level and board relationships and guide strategic decisions.
• Identify and execute opportunities for EBITDA expansion and shareholder value.
• Mentor junior staff and participate in recruiting.
