Job summary

Bain & Company in Dallas seeks a Director, Consulting Programs to lead the Associate Consultant and Consultant cohorts, partnering with HR and Texas leaders to staff, develop, manage performance, and support staffing initiatives.

You’ll drive capacity planning, professional development, and program delivery across the Dallas office, align with local talent leadership, and help advance strategic initiatives while supporting mobility across Texas offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management, liberal arts, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of professional experience, including five years of progressive management experience.
• Knowledge of professional services and consulting operations.

Responsibilities

• Staff consulting teams based on client, office, and individual priorities.
• Balance client service, utilization, retention, and professional development in staffing decisions.
• Identify team considerations and staffing-pool constraints and partner on complex staffing decisions.
• Build one-on-one relationships with Associate Consultants and Consultants, providing career guidance and mentoring.
• Meet regularly with individuals to understand their development goals, objectives, and interests.
• Monitor case-team assignments to ensure staff gain experience across a variety of projects.
• Manage professional development processes, including reviews, feedback, and coaching support.
• Coordinate broader support networks across the Texas office.
• Partner with Program Management colleagues and local talent leadership on training and career-development programming.
• Lead the Dallas Associate Consultant promotion process in coordination with other Texas offices.
• Partner with HR on performance management, employee relations, risk, and policy matters.
• Coordinate transfers and leaves of absence; lead diligence for inbound transfers.
• Contribute to operating-policy and process improvements affecting staff.
• Maintain data integrity across talent-management systems.
• Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements.
• Support capacity planning, including case activity and transitions.
