The Director, Compensation is a key member of the Saint-Gobain Total Rewards leadership team, reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards. This position manages a team of six and oversees the strategy, plan design, communications, and administration of compensation programs for 19,000 employees across the US and Canada. It provides operational and strategic leadership to HR and Business leaders in North America, ensuring our Total Rewards package remains competitive, meets employee needs, and supports our Employee Value Proposition aligned with our core values of Trust, Empowerment, and Collaboration.
The role involves delivering innovative, sustainable compensation programs that promote transparency and enhance employee engagement while achieving business goals. The Director will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Total Rewards, the Director of Benefits and Well-being, and the Global Total Rewards team in France to implement and expand on the company's Total Rewards strategy, including:
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 8-10 years in HR/benefits/compensation, and 5-7 years in strategic leadership. The candidate should demonstrate success in designing variable pay plans, project management, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of compensation regulations and market practices. Proficiency with Workday, Hay, PayScale, and related tools is a plus. The role requires strong communication, partnership-building skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.
