Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company in Green Bay, WI, seeks a Senior Manager of Community Connections to be the station's primary liaison with civic, nonprofit, business, education, and government leaders.

You will translate community insights into stronger journalism, partnerships, and events, while guiding the newsroom's engagement and ensuring timely responses to audience questions. This onsite role ties local impact to station strategy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, communications, public affairs, partnership development, government relations, or related fields.
• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to understand priorities and opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and communicate community insights to station leadership and partners.
• Identify story opportunities and connect journalists with trusted sources for audience engagement.
• Serve as primary community liaison with civic, nonprofit, business, education, and government groups.
• Represent the station in the community and foster partnerships with long-term value and impact.
• Ensure timely, professional communication with community members and stakeholders.
• Lead planning and execution of forums, town halls, public-service initiatives, and educational programs.
• Collaborate with News, Sales, Marketing, and leadership to strengthen audience relationships and community impact.
• Oversee event logistics, stakeholder coordination, and measurement of engagement effectiveness.
• Develop and execute a market-wide community engagement strategy aligned with priorities.
• Advise leadership on community needs and opportunities to strengthen trust and local impact.
• Coordinate cross-functional engagement efforts and share best practices.
