Job summary

The E. W. Scripps Company’s Milwaukee NBC affiliate, WTMJ, seeks a Senior Manager of Community Connections to bridge the station with community leaders and audiences. You will shape engagement strategies, gather insights for journalism, and drive forums and events that reflect local priorities.

You will partner with News, Sales, Marketing, and leadership to build trusted relationships and timely responses to audience questions while elevating community impact across the market.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, journalism, nonprofit leadership, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders to understand issues and opportunities.
• Gather, analyze, and communicate community insights to station leadership and partners.
• Partner with News to identify story opportunities and connect journalists with trusted sources.
• Act as the station's primary community liaison with civic, nonprofit, business, education, and government groups.
• Lead planning and execution of forums, town halls, and public-service initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional engagement with News, Sales, Marketing, Operations and leadership.
• Oversee event logistics, stakeholder coordination and impact measurement.
