Job summary

Capital One seeks a Director, Business Risk and Governance (Regulatory Lead) to guide the Commercial UW&PM organization on regulatory matters and governance. This leader will advise senior management, align regulatory expectations with business strategy, and partner across Risk, Credit Review, and Regulatory Relations to ensure compliant, well-justified decisioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
• At least 8 years in a regulatory body or advisory role at a commercial bank.
• Experience advising management on regulatory and commercial credit matters.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the unit’s subject matter expert on regulatory matters across commercial credit topics.
• Monitor regulatory expectations and communicate anticipated actions to the business.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Relations, Credit Review and Risk to address changes and drive compliance.
• Lead governance routines and remediation activities to ensure conformance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage regulatory documentation, exam readiness, and outcomes with internal stakeholders.
• Act as in-business counsel to UW&PM teams at the transaction level and identify risk-management opportunities.
