Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Director of Commercial Operations to align Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations and Analytics around a unified Salesforce-based operating model. You will own systems, processes, and data infrastructure to enable a high-performing sales organization with Salesforce as the central platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years in customer success, sales, analytics, or commercial operations.
• Ability to transform data into insights and actionable recommendations.
• Experience with reporting tools and systems (CRM e.g., Salesforce, Excel, Tableau).
• Experience supporting customer success initiatives, account management, or sales performance.
• Experience leading complex projects with multiple cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Finance, IT, Marketing).
• Understanding of customer dynamics, sales processes, and commercial performance drivers.
• Structured communicator for senior leadership and/or board members.
• Travel may be required up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end sales process and the Salesforce platform that powers it.
• Manage Salesforce business operations, including the product catalog, pricing rules, workflow automation, and field naming standards.
• Establish pipeline standards, opportunity hygiene, forecasting cadences, and sales governance reviews.
• Provide reps with training, tools, and visibility to ramp fast and sell consistently, including onboarding curricula, playbooks, territory frameworks, and compensation plan documentation.
• Own customer-facing content management and internal sales communications and build rep performance scorecards to track productivity against KPIs.
• Drive sales tool adoption planning, using root-cause analysis to diagnose and eliminate adoption gaps.
• Map current-state workflows across Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations to identify cross-functional friction points.
• Drive operational clarity and automate processes through RACI, SOPs, and system-level updates.
• Serve as the primary commercial stakeholder to Analytics, translating business questions into reporting requirements (utilization, unit economics, territory performance).
• Define core governance framework - policy, rules of engagement, and territory/account assignment governance.
• Maintain commercial policy documentation, rules of engagement, and territory/account governance.
• Monitor compliance and lead periodic audits with corrective actions.
