Job description

Commercial Operations Leader | COO Track
South Miami, Florida
$150,000-$200,000 base salary + bonus/benefits

A growing medical device business is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Leader to join the organisation at an exciting stage of growth.

We are looking for an operationally minded leader who can help the business run better, faster and with fewer surprises — improving execution, building scalable processes, strengthening accountability and creating greater visibility across the organization.

The role is expected to develop into an increasingly broad COO-track position, working closely with the CEO and taking greater responsibility for business operations as the company grows.

The Opportunity.

This is a genuine player-coach role. You will be senior enough to influence leadership and drive cross-functional change, but equally comfortable getting into the detail — analysing data, solving operational problems, redesigning processes, working with suppliers and personally driving initiatives through to implementation. You will sit at the intersection of Operations, Supply Chain, Business Operations, Commercial and operational finance, helping translate company priorities into measurable execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve day-to-day operational execution and organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability, deadlines and operating rhythms.
  • Identify bottlenecks, dependencies and risks before they become major issues.
  • Lead demand and supply planning, inventory management and operational forecasting.
  • Oversee purchasing, suppliers, manufacturers, logistics and external partners.
  • Improve visibility across supply chain and business operations.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards and management reporting to support decision-making.
  • Analyse operational and financial data to identify opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
  • Support working capital, cost, margin and profitability initiatives from an operational perspective.
  • Build and improve processes, workflows and operating procedures.
  • Drive cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.
  • Improve collaboration between Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D / Engineering and Commercial teams.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and create greater organizational accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to use AI, automation and technology to improve productivity and eliminate unnecessary manual work.
  • Work closely with the CEO as an internal operating partner.
  • Over time, take on broader operational responsibility as the company scales.
What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have built their career in:

  • Operations
  • Business Operations
  • Supply Chain & Planning
  • General Management
  • Operations Strategy
  • Strategy & Operations with substantial operational ownership
  • Commercial Operations with significant operational responsibility

Experience required within Medical Device, MedTech, IVD, Life Sciences.

The Profile

You will ideally be someone who:

  • Has a strong track record of personally improving how a business operates.
  • Is comfortable moving between strategic priorities and detailed execution.
  • Has built processes rather than simply inherited them.
  • Enjoys solving problems and getting into the underlying data.
  • Has meaningful supply chain, planning and operational experience.
  • Understands suppliers, manufacturers, logistics and external partners.
  • Can use quantitative and financial information to make better operational decisions.
  • Has experience building KPIs, dashboards and operating rhythms.
  • Can influence across functions without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Is comfortable operating in a growing, entrepreneurial or resource-constrained environment.
  • Has experience implementing automation, AI or technology-enabled process improvements.
  • Can challenge senior stakeholders constructively while building strong relationships.
  • Has the ambition and leadership capability to grow into a broader COO-level role.
Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a growing medical device business at a point where the successful individual can have a genuine impact on how the organization operates.

Rather than stepping into a narrowly defined functional position, you will have the opportunity to build processes, improve execution, work directly with the CEO and progressively expand your remit.

If you are a hands-on operator who enjoys turning complexity into structure, improving execution and building businesses for scale, we would be interested in speaking with you.
