Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Cloud Software Engineering Director to lead the development, maintenance, and production support of cloud platform components within the Vehicle, Mobile and Cloud organization. You will own delivery to seamlessly integrate Ford’s Connectivity Platform with partner platforms across Ford-engineered and partner-engineered programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in software engineering, CS, or related field.
10+ years in cloud software engineering or connected vehicle tech with leadership responsibility.
3+ years leading managers and large globally distributed teams.
3+ years delivering cloud apps on Java, Spring Boot, containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and GCP.
Experience translating strategy into executable roadmaps and delivering platforms at scale.
Executive-level written/spoken communication skills to translate complex topics for stakeholders.
Willingness to travel 25% to Europe, Asia/China, and other locations as vehicle programs require.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and technical leadership for cloud platform software delivering Ford-connected vehicle capabilities.
Own technology strategy to integrate Ford's connectivity platform with partner platforms across programs.
Set priorities and ensure predictable execution for global, always-on platform capabilities.
Establish objectives and drive improvements in cost, quality, reliability, security, and delivery.
Translate objectives into actionable roadmaps and transformation initiatives.
Lead and develop a global organization of ~50 engineers and four direct reports.
Align engineering, product, integration, service, and partner teams to deliver shared outcomes.
Translate complex designs and partner approaches into clear recommendations for executives.
