Job summary

Scopely seeks a Director of Cloud Governance to lead a new governance function across AWS and GCP, implementing scalable controls and policies. You will partner with FinOps, Security, and game teams to roll out standards and achieve compliant, efficient cloud usage.

In this senior role, you will establish governance from the ground up, drive adoption across decentralized teams, and shape an AI-native governance strategy enabling autonomous monitoring and remediation at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE.
• 3-5+ years leading teams in complex, multi-team environments.
• Experience operating in decentralized or federated engineering organizations.
• Proven track record implementing cloud governance and enforcement at scale.
• Experience managing or influencing environments with $50M+ cloud spend.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with policy-as-code and governance tooling (OPA, Sentinel, AWS Config).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and multi-account design.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a Cloud Governance team and operating model.
• Define enforcement mechanisms for cloud policies across AWS/GCP.
• Design controls, region restrictions, identity/access management, and environment isolation.
• Partner with FinOps, Security, and game teams to roll out policies.
• Define standards for account structure, environment segmentation, and naming.
• Drive AI-native governance and autonomous monitoring/remediation.
