Job summary

Northern VA Community College seeks a Director of Infrastructure Operations to lead enterprise infrastructure, manage Microsoft 365/Google Workspace administration, and run secure digital workplace services.

Work with CIO/CTO and senior teams to deliver reliable cloud productivity solutions, ensure compliance, and guide technical teams in data center and cloud services. CJIS Level 4 and state/federal background checks are required.

Qualifications

Experience leading enterprise IT teams and delivering reliable services.
Ability to plan for short- and long-term infrastructure needs.
Strong governance, licensing, and change-management knowledge.
Experience implementing cloud security controls and MFA/conditional access.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead planning and administration of infrastructure services and cloud platforms (M365, Google Workspace, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online).
Provide day-to-day operational leadership for data-center and cloud service teams.
Establish governance, licensing, service health monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Coordinate with security/compliance to implement cloud security controls and data protection.
Oversee core system consoles for access, licensing, and tenant settings.
Solicit input from employees on decisions and relay feedback to leadership.
Must pass CJIS Level 4 and FBI/Virginia State Police background checks.
