Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority seeks a senior leader to direct and oversee the Claims Bureau, including administration, investigation, data development, and negotiations. This role advances the Third‑Party Administrator function for all claims related to the MTA Stations and Force Account Liability Insurance program.

Responsibilities span leadership of staff, budgeting, settlements, and contract compliance, with collaboration across LIRR/MNR and external partners.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible experience in insurance/laws affecting rail/transport.
• Experience managing staff and budgets in a large org.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills with fiduciary awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Claims Bureau and third‑party administration.
• Manage claims intake, assignment, evaluation and reserves.
• Direct settlements, negotiations and authority within fiduciary limits.
• Ensure compliance, auditing and contractual obligations.
• Manage litigation staff and vendor oversight across multiple entities.
