Job summary

Washburn University seeks a Compliance Director to oversee Title IX, Title VI, and ADA-related compliance across Washburn University and Washburn Tech. The role coordinates investigations, develops training, and advises leadership on civil rights matters.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Five years of experience in EEO, employment law, Title VI, Title VII, civil rights, ADA, or other relevant experience.
• Three years of experience conducting prompt, thorough investigations regarding harassment, discrimination, or equivalent legal experience.
• Experience designing and conducting training related to anti-harassment, non-discrimination, Title IX, or ADA.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all reports of potential Title IX investigations and cases involving students, faculty, and/or staff, ensuring timely, accurate, thorough, and impartial processes.
• Conduct, oversee, and manage Title VI and Title VII investigations into discrimination, retaliation, and harassment.
• Advise senior leadership on matters involving discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation.
• Oversee external investigators and ensure proper evidentiary collection for claims of sexual violence, discrimination, and harassment.
• Develop and maintain partnerships and MOUs with community agencies and oversee their campus presence.
• Serve as ADA/Section 504 Coordinator and address grievances relating to accommodations and discrimination.
