Job summary

Utah State University seeks an Executive Director of Civil Rights & Title IX to serve as the statewide senior leader for civil rights compliance and the university's Title IX Coordinator. The role provides strategic guidance, oversees policies and training, and ensures fair, timely processes across state campuses.

The position leads the Civil Rights & Title IX Office, partners with Legal Affairs, HR, and campus partners, and advances a culture of compliance and accountability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus seven years of related work experience, including five years in leadership.
• Significant experience in Title IX, civil rights, equal opportunity, investigations, compliance, or a closely related area.
• Knowledge of Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, ADA/Section 504, VAWA, Clery Act and related requirements.
• Experience managing complex and sensitive matters with fair, impartial processes.
• Demonstrated leadership, including leading teams, advising senior leaders, and institutional change.
• Excellent judgment, communication skills, and ability to maintain neutrality and credibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide university-wide leadership and oversight for compliance with Title IX and civil rights laws and policies.
• Lead the Civil Rights & Title IX Office, including staff, operations, and case management systems.
• Oversee investigations, resolutions, and documentation of reports within the office's jurisdiction.
• Advise university leadership on civil rights matters and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training, prevention, and outreach related to civil rights and Title IX.
• Ensure supportive measures and accommodations are administered fairly and consistently.
• Build partnerships across colleges, divisions, and statewide campuses to strengthen prevention and compliance.
