Job summary

Daemen University in Amherst, NY, seeks a Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) to lead the faculty development strategy and initiatives across all modalities. You will work with Instructional Design, senior leadership, and campus partners to design programs, consult on pedagogy, and advance evidence-based teaching practices.

The role emphasizes program development, budget management, and collaboration to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; doctoral degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of higher education teaching experience required, five or more years preferred.
• Experience with multiple instructional modalities, including online, hybrid, HyFlex, or blended learning.
• Experience designing and delivering faculty professional development or training.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
• Leadership experience and collaboration with diverse populations are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the faculty development strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
• Identify development needs in collaboration with faculty and leadership.
• Develop and coordinate an annual calendar of professional development opportunities.
• Lead SEE and other initiatives to advance evidence-informed teaching practices.
• Plan and implement workshops, orientations, teaching circles, and scholarly presentations.
• Consult with faculty on pedagogy, course design, and use of instructional tools including AI.
• Develop resources, guides, and communications; assess programming effectiveness.
