Job summary

Northeast Baptist Hospital, part of Tenet Healthcare, seeks an experienced leader to oversee the Cardiovascular Services Department. You will drive clinical excellence, manage budgets, and mentor a diverse team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, regulatory compliance, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance outcomes and operational efficiency across the facility.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum experience: 5 years in Cardiovascular Services; 2 years in management.
  • Required certifications/licensure: Texas State License or AART, ACVT or RCIS.
  • Required courses: BLS (on hire) and ACLS within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes goals and objectives and manages the departmental budget.
  • Directs daily operations of the cardiovascular department and staff.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and safety standards.
  • Builds physician and staff relationships and fosters professional development.
  • Coordinates with other hospital departments to ensure integrated care.
  • Manages staffing, supplies, and performance coaching.

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus
Responsible for the oversight and management of the Cardiovascular Services Department; works with patients from adolescent to geriatric. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

General Management:
Establishes goals and objectives that support overall strategic plans of the facility/Baptist Health System
Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets
Directs daily operations of assigned department/s
Directs performance of staff
Maintains objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions
Supports the mission statement, policies and procedures of the Baptist Health System
Manages to eliminate boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient and quality service
Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies
Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues
Demonstrates flexibility in response to change
Anticipates and responds to problems and risks
Communicates effectively with all levels in the organization and with inter/external customers
People Management:
Selects personnel for hire and promotion; takes appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion and termination
Directs, supports and coaches direct reports
Responds proactively to employee needs and concerns
Develops “experts” and “expertise” throughout the department and seeks employee input
Facilitates consensus among divergent groups
Minimizes staff turnover
Acknowledges and rewards employees’ strengths and accomplishments
Evaluates assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback
Assesses learning needs, develops competency plans and provides opportunities for learning
Department/Business Unit Management:
Completes schedules to insure an appropriate level of staffing
Functions as staff person as necessary
Maintains appropriate supply levels by maintaining low inventory costs
Maintains accurate records of all procedures performed
Coordinates with other hospital departments
Develops and maintains excellent physician/staff professional relationships
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Addresses patient population-specific needs
Participates in Performance Improvement activities

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing and/or accredited school of radiology and/or
accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in related field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in Cardiovascular Services. 2 years management experience in related field.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Director of Cardiovascular Services
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possess a current Texas State License or AART, ACVT or RCIS
REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
