Job summary

Final Mile is seeking a Director, Carrier Procurement to lead carrier relationships across the hub network in St. Louis. You will drive bidding activity, optimize carrier value, and work with Hub Group Operations to grow volume and customer satisfaction.

The role requires industry expertise, strategic planning, and the ability to guide staff through complex bids, while focusing on performance, cost, and service metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field.
• 3-5 years in third-party logistics operations or customer-facing roles.
• 5 years in leadership/management.
• Strong understanding of transportation and logistics principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Source opportunities to improve margins and performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales and Leadership to identify opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for carrier base.
• Oversee quarterly business reviews with top carriers.
• Identify new business opportunities with top vendors to improve margins.
• Provide leadership to staff through bids and projects.
• Establish goals and accountability for team.
• Manage department resource planning and execution.
• Adapt to changing duties and priorities.
