Job summary

South Plains College seeks an experienced Director of Career Services to provide leadership, planning, and evaluation of the Career Services program supporting student success, workforce readiness, and transfer outcomes.

The role collaborates with instructional divisions, advising, counseling, workforce education, and community partners to connect students and alumni with career exploration tools, job-search support, and employer connections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred for higher education administration or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership for Career Services operations across the SPC centers.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive career services plan aligned with mission and workforce priorities.
• Oversee career development programming including resume reviews, interview prep, and job-search strategies.
• Coordinate career-related events such as career fairs, employer info sessions, and networking activities.
• Build partnerships with local employers and community organizations for internships and job opportunities.
• Represent the College in employer relations and recruit employers for postings and campus events.
• Collaborate with faculty to align career services with academic programs and transfer pathways.
• Work with advising and counseling staff to provide student-centered services and successful transitions to work or higher education.
