Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Director, Campus Services is responsible for providing leadership and coordination for the campus Technology Services. This position is involved in the development and implementation of a variety of campus-specific strategic and tactical project and initiative. The Director develops and implements department policies and procedures for Information Technology at the campus level. This position is a member of a 24/7/365 global department and must be available for on-call and after-hour support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Provide budgetary oversight for campus technology budget. Ensure that adequate accounting controls and records maintenance policies are being followed within the department, and financial integrity in all aspects of IT management on campus
  2. Lead the campus technology areas to ensure consistent quality in hardware across the system and ensure that IT services are delivered in a consistent, efficient, and effective manner
  3. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of operational plans and measures and report performance against the system-wide strategic plans
  4. Provide logistical purchasing support for bulk hardware purchases and services. Oversee and direct capital outlay budgeting
  5. Collaborate with members of the Technology Services Team to develop, document, and implement common operational procedures for IT operations
  6. Collaborate with employees at all levels across the campus to help determine technology needs for hardware and software
  7. Meet with public and corporate executives, community groups, and constituents in conducting the business of the College. Participate in a variety of committees, councils, and initiatives as needed, and conduct special projects as assigned
  8. Promote, initiate, maintain, and monitor IT security operations to include data, network, system, applications, and physical security
  9. Collaborate with employees at all levels across the campus to help determine technology needs for hardware and software
  10. Provide leadership to assigned campus to plan goals and projects and assist in prioritizing needs. This includes but is not limited to providing project management oversight, coordinating multiple IT project timelines with campus schedules to keep disruptions at a minimum, and supporting the delivery of instruction on campus
  11. Actively maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology systems and services that are applicable to the higher education
  12. Foster excellent team communication within the department and act as a liaison to other administrative departments and campuses to jointly deliver effective IT services
  13. Promote, initiate, maintain, and monitor IT security operations to include data, network, system, applications, and physical security
  14. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • May regularly travel to different LSC locations
  • May be fully reassigned to other LSC locations if necessary
  • May need to work weekends and outside of core business hours if necessary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience must include at least 3 years in a mid‑management or director‑level position
  • One additional year of work experience may be substituted for each required certification
  • ITIL Foundations or industry recognized equivalent
  • CompTIA Project+ certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree
  • 8 years of related work experience
  • 4 years in a mid‑management positionAdditional years of experience in Information Technology management

Salary

Hiring salary range is $106,272 to $122,213.

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full‑time non‑faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
