Job summary

JSI is seeking a Director of Broadband Network Engineering in Lubbock, TX to lead the Network Engineering team, drive delivery excellence, and grow strategic client relationships. The role requires deep technical foundation to credibly direct engineering work while focusing on leadership and business outcomes.

You will own performance across utilization, margins, and client satisfaction, while partnering with senior leadership on strategy and new service offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Master's degree or MBA is preferred
• Industry recognized network certifications or PMP preferred

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the team Managers and Senior Engineers, ensuring delivery quality and client satisfaction.
• Own practice-wide performance metrics: utilization, project margins, schedule adherence, and delivery quality.
• Lead hiring, staffing decisions, performance reviews, compensation recommendations, career progression, and disciplinary actions for Managers and Senior Engineers.
• Serve as executive advisor to major clients on cross-domain network strategy across fiber, optical transport, routing/switching, RF access, and voice infrastructure.
• Partner with VP on strategic planning, staffing forecasts, and new service offerings.
• Establish and enforce standards, QA processes, and engineering methodologies.
• Represent the Network Engineering practice in client escalations and contract discussions.
• Monitor KPIs, utilization, and financial performance; report to VP and firm leadership.
• Support business development: scoping, proposals, and client pursuits.
