As an Environmental Specialist II on the Permitting & Environmentals team, you will support the environmental permitting and compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences or related sciences; or 30 credit hours in Biology combined with relevant field experience required.
5 to 10 years demonstrated environmental agency permitting experience
Working knowledge of federal grant-related environmental requirements, including NHPA and Section 106 compliance.
Experience working with federal, state, and/or local agencies on environmental permitting or cultural resource matters.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare agency correspondence, environmental and cultural resource reports, and project documentation.
Proficiency with Google Earth, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Excel, and Word, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing requirements effectively.

Responsibilities

Researching the environmental components found during review to determine what environmental concerns are present in the proposed project and the steps required to address those concerns.
Working with various federal and state agencies to obtain environmental permitting clearance for construction.
Supporting the development of state and local land use and environmental permitting efforts, including conditional/special use permits and certificates of environmental compatibility.
Work may include project compliance or fieldwork support, budget and milestone coordination, and proposal or scope-of-work development support.
Coordinating survey efforts between third party consultants and federal agencies as required.
