Rain is building out its branded payments line of business, starting with stored value. We're looking for a BD and Strategy Director to own the growth of this opportunity end to end — from identifying and closing the right partners, to shaping the go-to-market motion, to working hand-in-hand with product and engineering to make sure what we sell is what we can ship.

This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Payments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in financial services and branded payments with GTM and strategy work.
• Intellectual curiosity, commercial judgment, and bias toward action.
• Proven track record in business development or partnerships with deal-making exposure.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering; speak both commercial and technical language.
• Ability to set strategic goals, prioritize opportunities, and plan where market or product is not defined.
• Strong written and verbal communication to represent the business externally.

Responsibilities

• Own the growth strategy for Rain's stored value / branded payments end-to-end from opportunity to launch.
• Drive business development by building a partner pipeline and structuring deals.
• Shape go-to-market strategy including positioning, segments, pricing, and launch sequencing.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate market feedback into roadmap inputs.
• Work cross-functionally with GTM and Partnerships to ensure a coherent market approach.
• Set strategic goals and report progress to leadership.
• Represent Rain externally with partners, prospects, and industry stakeholders.
