Job summary
SOPHiA GENETICS is seeking a Director of BioPharma Business Development to drive new customer acquisition and strategic account development across biopharma partners. You will nurture opportunities from initial conversations to signed engagements, collaborating with scientific, commercial, and operations colleagues to shape tailored solutions.
The role covers US West Coast and Central States with up to 30% travel, focusing on NGS-based assays, biomarker discovery, and CDx powered by SOPHiA DDM
Qualifications
- 8+ years of biopharma business development, sales or related roles.
- Direct experience selling to pharmaceutical/biopharma organisations.
- Strong understanding of precision medicine, genomics, diagnostics.
- Proven ability to build pipeline and advance opportunities to proposals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across scientific and commercial audiences.
Responsibilities
- Drive new customer acquisition and strategic account development in biopharma.
- Build and progress opportunities through proposal development and deal closure.
- Lead discussions on precision medicine offerings, CDx, deployment and discovery work.
- Develop and maintain a healthy Salesforce pipeline from initial contact to signed engagements.
- Partner cross-functionally to shape customer solutions and support successful execution.
